Today Ashley and I took Grandpa over to his farm. I don't think I've ever been over there. We walked all around and ended the trip with a picnic lunch. Ashley this morning made brownies for 4-H,so we had a bit of that  for desert and left the rest for Grandpa to eat later. Grandpa's farm is really pretty. I'm sure we wont have to twist his arm to go over again sometime when it really greens up. We had a really nice time, and Grandpa loved showing us different things.

Just wanted to share something I think is kinda funny.  Everyone knows how Bill is obsessed about cars right. We were in Seymour and he wanted to go check out the challengers they had at Bowman's. He wants one of these cars so bad,he can't see straight. Personally I don't like them much. I would much rather have the yellow with black striped camero. Anyway he gets out and a sales person jumps right on him. I'm in the truck having no part of this. He goes to the door and is excitedly motioning  me to come see. I get out and just before I go in ,I SEE IT. A Challenger in the paintjob of the camero I want. I will admit it was rather sharp looking. The only one I'll admit to liking. We even sat in it. Big mistake, cause apparently if you sit in one you are teathered to that salesperson for life. Bill tried to be nice and say we couldn't have this car because it was a stickshift. I've never driven a stick and learning on a $42,000 car not a good idea. He also said we had to talk about it cause I really wanted the camero. We finally got out of there. He daydreamed all the way home. I'm thinking he's nuts even thinking we could aford a car like that. I need to find one in a Hot Wheels. Much cheeper. Anyway yesterday we got in the mail a nice card saying that they were looking for the Challenger in the color we like with an automatic.  Hope they aren't serious. I fully believe one day we might own one of these two cars, but someone else has to own them first for a few years. Anyway we have to see that when we get pregnant that we don't have multiples. We may have to settle for a yellow and black striped minivan. haha. Could you imagine that.

Ashley here. I lost another tooth. I've lost 5 teeth so far. I'm so excited. Mom and dad let me pick out any type of icecream I wanted. So I chose Ben&Jerrie's Chocolate Fudge Brownie icecream.
We were over at Mamaw's  and she tried very hard to get it out there. I bribed her with ice cream if she would get it out there. Mamaw said she'd give her a buck. Bill was helping Andy with the tractor and when they were done still no missing tooth. Time to go. We get down the road a bit and I said at the end of this road we turn right to go home or we turn left to get ice cream. Just after I said that it went flying through the air. We had to search for it before we got out at the store. She's so happy,me too.
Today we tried to go to Circle S Ranch, but they were closed for the season. Bummer. We went down to Madison and walked along the river. They have added more sidewalk and also a walking trail at the very end. We also saw a dog swimming in the river and two guys in swim trunks
swimming after it,yelling for it to come to them. I can't believe they did that. I can't imagine how cold that water was.  They were able to grab the dog after a few minuets much to everyone's relief. This was taken as they were swimming back.

Zoo pictures taken by Ashley for 4-H

Yesterday we went to the Louisville zoo. Just an FYI they are doing construction there and some exibits are closed. My favorite part was watching the baby elephant playing around. We walked around the zoo three times and rode the tram once. We got to see the baby elephant eat, roll around in the mud, and play in the water. I could have stayed there all day and just watched him. We also got to see them feed the tiger. We made sure we were in the  front row.Tigers are my favorite wild animal. This one looks a little raggady and scrawney though.

We thouhgt this was a really cool find.

We rode three times!!!!!!!
I think we are going to the ranch in Greensburge today. Bill said something about it yesterday. He just has to wake up from the dead. He stayed up after working,so we could go to the zoo. I drove. I don't know how he does that.

4-H

Since it was kind of a yucky day, I decided to get a jump start on Ashley's 4-H projects. We ran over to Jay-C with a huge list. I didn't have hardly any ingreadients that they were calling for. Bummer. Ashley had a really great time going down the isles finding what we needed, documenting sugar contents in food and also juice contents in different drinks. We still have lots to do,but at least got a 1/3 of the cooking part done. We made Mama mia pizza, granola bars, and here in a bit fruit kabobs. Ashley is really impressed with the pizza. She says it's the best she ever had. She wants me to blog the recipe,so here goes.

Buscuit dough,Ragu pizza sauce, mini pepporonies, mushrooms, cheese. Flatten dough, add toppings, flatten some more if needed, and flip one side to make a pocket, use fork to pinch down edges. Bake 400 deg 15-20 min

Granola tastes good, followed directions and not quite sticky enogh, but maybe they need to sit a bit longer. She's very proud of herself, and I've enjoyed watching her learn to cook. She now says she wants to open her own pizza and sandwich shop.

It's spring time!!!!!!!

It's so nice out!  What's a girl to do. Have FUN and lots of it, of course. We hung out here for awhile. Ashley has grown so much Bill had to take the swing up four notches. Snif snif. She jumped on the trampoline for awhile then Bill suggested we go cruising in the Trans Am.  Where did we go... around town, to the park ,and Wal-Mart. haha Ashley needed some new flip flops and has been begging for me to get her some. She has been wearing them since we left the store.  I love this weather, it makes me so happy to be outside again. We've been walking the dogs a bunch to the point they don't want to get up later to go out potty. Here's a few more pictures to enjoy.

Because the park was so packed we had to go to the old section.
I remember having tons of fun on this thing.   It's cool to see Ashley having fun on it too.

4-H

Yesterday we signed Ashley up for 4-H. She is so excited. She is doing a poster board about our dogs, photography, scrapbooking, and baking. I never knew how involved 4-H was. The lady handed us a stack of books to complete after we said she could do all this. I just thought she'd just shoot some pictures, turn in her best work and that'd be all. I'm not complaining, the book has tuns of information, and will help her improve her picture taking skills. It will make her think about how to get the best shots, lighting, different angles. All this she has to do and more. With the cooking we have to do several recipes, even do a demonstraton for a group of people. The thing she has to turn in are cookies. I am probably the worst at making cookies. Don't know why exactly,I follow the recipe. They just never turn out. Maybe after going through all of this I'll learn a thing or two also. She keeps thanking me over and over for letting her do all of this. She has scoured the books from cover to cover. She is ready. It makes me smile to see her so excited. I just hope we have enough time to do all of this. I'm glad next week is springbreak. It'll give her lots to do.

Am I A Redneck??? Judge for yourself.

Today is a day, that I have been wating for for what seems like a very long time. I can't believe I am even excited by this, which makes me think I'm starting to turn into a redneck. We have been needing gravel for a while now. We have called five people to do this very simple, yet expensive task. Four of them didn't even bother to show up, call, write, send a smoke signal, nothing. If this is anything like dating I sure am glad I'm married. Grandpa suggested giving his good friend John Moore a call, and bless his heart he showed up, TWICE!!!!! Once to give us a quote, and then today with the gravel. He was even 15 min early. I thought surly I must be dreaming. It was all I could do not to hug him. For the last several months the drive has been one muddy mess.

So do I look like a redneck?
Oh NO it's catching!!!!!!!! Ashley's teeth are falling out.

Kids are too funny

All week Ashley has been hounding me to make cookies. For Christmas she got a curious chef cookie set. It's cute with everything made kid size. I told her she needed to get her apron on, so she wouldn't get messy. Things were going smooth, then her apron somehow fell off her.  She says "That's OK I don't need it, I wont get messy." The next step was to add flour.  I'm over at the sink washing things and she screams. I look over and somehow the lid off the flour container had come off, and it was EVERYWHERE!!! I didn't know if I should laugh or cry. Unfortunatly no pictures. I couldn't find a charged up camera. Anyway, got that cleaned up,Even the dogs helped by licking up the floor. YUCK. But hey they like to eat catpoop too,so maybe flour tasted good. Haha. The cookies are sugar cookies with icing and sprinkles. They are very tasty. Hey I had to sacrafice the Attkin's diet for that. Someone has to do it. She was so proud of them, I had to have a few.
Then as we were getting ready for bed, Ashley goes, "So any baby news yet?"  I said,"We have more tests to do and it takes a healthy Mommy and Daddy to have a baby." I thought I answered that pretty smooth. Then being the debater that she is, says, "I know that's not true, I know of a teenager who got pregnant and she's not married."  ME.....................UMMMMMM.............. I  quickly changed the subject. Now here  is a question, how does she know of this pregnant teenager.  School I'm sure. Kids are so dang funny.

Todays Dr. appointment didn't go so well. We have more testing to do and depending on what that shows we are going to be referred to a specialsist. We just may need some extra help. We did start taking vitimins today, which may help. I did do some research on computer and they suggested it too.
We shall see.

It's almost springtime,YEAH!!!!!!!  Three Geese have moved in. The dogs are trying to  make sure they don't get too comfortable on the dam. The dogs do however ,like it if they poop as they fly over. They love the perfume apperantly. Not so funny for me, but  it is funny to see Harley ran out there like a bad A**. One day they may decide to give him a taste of his own medicine.  Hope not.

For you thrifty shoppers, you may want to check out Big Lots. We purchased some Finder speakers for $30 a pair. They retail $190 a pair. Bill bought 2 sets and hooked them up over the weekend. We now have surround sound that shakes the house. OK couch.  And no it wasn't Bill with his own sound effects. Haha.  He also bought me some Iron Chef blueberry cream coffee. At first I was like what the _____fill in the blank. Blueberry's and coffee doesn't even sound good together. I humored him though and was surprised at how good it actually was. Also had some cool Wii Games $10-$18.  I don't usually go into Big Lots, but am going to check it out more often.

Also today  I hit  jackpot at Goodwill. I found a Shiatsu Massager for $5. They are about $100 at the store.  Bill has been wanting one for a couple of years,I just couldn't part with $100 for it.  $5 bucks, you bet. I was on cloud nine. He was pretty excited when I surprised him with it. Could hardly get him
away from it to eat dinner. Told me he wasn't moving. Also found two pair of jeans and 3 pairs of
nice maternity pants. Total I spent $27.

It's been a good day and my cabin fever is vanishing.
