Last night we carved pumpkins.  The baby pumpkin was too small so we stamped  and wrote on it instead. Turned out pretty good I think. There's a trick to stamping something round.
No gross faces this year. Ashley was into digging the guts out this time. She carved most of her pumpkin out by herself. She is very proud of how her cat turned out.

Since I look like a pumpkin Bill thought it was cute to get a side shot by one.
 Ashley's pumpkin below

My pumpkin. Not bad for first hard one. It's an owl in a tree.
Bill's werewolf pumpkin. He's so awesome.

Fall break. Wasn't exactly a vacation, esp. for Bill, but we did get to get out some. Sat. we went to Circle S Ranch in Greensburg. I have never been before. Let me tell you it was sooooooooo awesome. Right now for another 5 weeks you can pet the baby tiger. After they turn 12 weeks the public can't interact with them anymore. So if you have ever wanted to pet a tiger you better go soon. If your lucky you can even give it a bottle or have it climb up in your lap. Don't worry though here in 3 months they are getting a baby lion. Definitely going back to see that. If you spend a little extra to go on the tractor ride you not only get up super close to the animals, but you get to feed them too.

This tiger is 21 weeks old. Man do they grow fast.

Yogi and Booboo. You throw them bread and they reach out and grab it.

This guy was intimidating. He weighs right at a ton.

I have this funny look on my face because if you grab the horns while it's eating they can't turn their head. They can still wrap their long  rough tongues around your wrist though. Needless to say I dropped the corn.

This was my favorite part. This is Jade and she is 7 weeks old. She mostly slept while we were in with her,but we got lots of petting time.

 AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
After Circle S Ranch we went to Montgomery Farms. We didn't get any pictures there, cause it was so dark. We took a haunted hay wagon ride through the woods, and afterwards sipped hot apple cider by a cozy fire. The pictures below are some  of the pumpkins out at Boyds Farm. We went out there tonight and even ran into Ryan, Angie and Dana. It started raining so didn't get too many pictures. Don't worry, I'll post more. We plan on going back. Becky and all the people who carve these pumpkins are just amazingly talented.

I thought this one was cute. The Boyds are expecting another grandchild,so they carved this one for it. Does anyone need a glass of this special water around here. Lots of babies being born soon.
Can't wait to go back when we can spend more time.  I'm glad we got a bit of rain though. Definitely not enough .

Out of the mouths of babes

Today was Ashley's first day off on fall break. She asked me what we were going to do today. I told her wasn't sure, but she needed to clean her room up at some point. She said, "Mom I hate to break it to you, but cleaning house is BORING!!!!!!!"

Not the best picture in the world, but I had to share it. Yesterday Ashley's class was going to the book fair. A HUGE deal to a book lover & fashion girl. She scrounged up a bunch of change, $21 to be exact then found the perfect purse to match the outfit she had picked out. Then she coordinated everything with a belt and jewelry. She was putting on a fashion show the night before deciding what to wear. It's not every day you get to take a purse to school. She bought 1 book, 1 bookmark, and a cute puppy address book, then donated the rest of her money for the kids that couldn't afford books. I thought that was very generous.

While Bill was home we took a small break from cutting wood and went to our favorite Pumpkin Patch.

You can buy pumpkins that are closer, but we love getting a wagon and taking it down to the Pumpkin patch. It's a beautiful long walk.
We spent a lot of time trying to pick out Four perfect pumpkins. I'm holding Ashley's. We got an even smaller one for the baby.

Bill loves getting creative. He left this behind to give other people a laugh. It's a litttle pumpkin person.
Our little pumpkin family is for now sitting quietly on the porch. Soon they will be turned into Halloween pumpkins. I can't wait.

WOO-HOOO!!! Last night we won our final game 6-4. We are undefeated. It was an awesome and intense game. Ashley is sooooooooo proud of her trophey. She took it to school today to show her class. About 5 minuets into the game I got a tap on the shoulder. When I turned around it was Bill and his Dad. He got out early yesterday and due to Columbus Day he gets till Monday off. Double WOO-HOO.  We went out to Pizza Hut to celebrate.

Ashley's team won last night 4-3. It was a very close game. Grandpa made it out to watch them play. He informed me that he sure was glad he had only one hearing aid in, and that it was in the ear away from me.  After the game I took Ashley to Dairy Queen. I wasn't going to get anything, but you know how that goes. They had a new flavor and it sounded so good. It was  a Pumpkin pie blizzard. It was fabulous. At least I got a small. Ashley stuck to her favorite Oreo brownie earthquake. She ate every last drop of it last night. No wonder she couldn't quite settle down for bed. The girl loves to talk and so last night she was pondering why High School was named that, and not something else, since you have to go to college. College being your highest education. The other night the burning question was, what is chalk made of. I told her she'd have to look it up later and to, get to sleep!. She always asks these kinds of questions when I am just falling asleep. Maybe that could be the next cellphone commercial. You see the new one that finds all kinds of info instantly.
I can see it now, kid asks out there question, Mom rolls over peeks at answer and your kid thinks your the smartest person ever. They never doubt you their entire life. Many would sell. I'd be the first one to buy it. Haha

I'll be sad when soccer is over. Ashley has had so much fun. She's begging to sign up for next year already. I just wish we had signed her up sooner.
