a week in review

All week I've been getting things ready for Mom's garage sale. Of course I had to do this in between Kevin's minuscule naps. He's had tummy troubles and has cried a lot of the week. Poor guy. On Wed. we went to Indy with some friends and didn't get home till midnight. We shopped till we dropped. Kevin is rapidly growing out of cloths. They don't get much ware before it's time to go up a size.  We found tons of adorable clothes at really good prices. Kevin's going for the cool surfer look this summer.
Funny story. We were chit chatting with our friends in the Toys R Us parking lot and this is what we witnessed. Firetrucks with alarms blaring pulled into the gas station across the street. All of a sudden we see two people running super fast. I assumed after the cart that I thought was being rolled away by the wind. NOPE. The one guy jumped in a van and then threw it in reverse nearly running over the second guy. The 2nd guy jumps in the van and they take off leaving the cart full of toys. Bill took the cart into the store and they confirmed that the two were stealing it. Unbeknownst to the firemen they  scared two thieves. Who knew Lego's were   in  such top demand in the black market. It was quite the sight to see.
We were car window shopping too. Bill wants to buy a new car that gets good gas mileage. Says that it'll pay for itself with the amount of gas we'll save VS the truck. KIA, Hyundai and Mitsubishi make some good looking vehicles these days. Not sure if really wanting a foreign car myself, but at least I know it was made here in the US. Still on the fence about all this ,but it sure was fun looking.
Mom's garage sale actually is going really well. Have I ever told you that I HATE garage sales. But the extra money sure will come in handy. I'm so glad mom had it and took care of things. People drive me crazy when they ask you to go down on price when they are already practically being given away. I need to find the garage sales that are like mine where things are practically new or in super good shape. All I ever find is junk. Granted I probably am forced to go just a few times a year:) I guess if I went more I'd hit a few good ones. On the other hand I've got enough stuff around here and don't need one more thing. I could start my own Kelly Mart. haha

Happy Father's day to all the Dad's out there.  Hope you have a great weekend!!!!!!!!!
