For all fruit cake lovers and haters out there. I have a new recipe I'd like to share. It's so easy you can whip it up in no time. It will also be gone in no time too ,I promise.

Cake
1box Duncan Hines Spice cake
1/2 cup regular applesauce
8 oz candied fruit

Follow directions on cake box,add applesauce and  fold in candied fruit Bake according to box
let cool down then add frosting.

Frosting
1/2 stick butter (room temp)
1-8oz package cream cheese ( room temp)
1 lb powder sugar
2teaspoons vanilla

mix with mixer

Try not to eat all of frosting before putting on cake. haha
This is  very moist and yummy. Kinda tastes like carrot cake.

Just wanted to share a money saving tip. Yesterday we went to UPS to ship Leia's Christmas gifts. It was going to cost $41. $21 for the box alone!!!!!! We said NO Thanks. We later went to Wal-Mart and they were stocking toys. A guy went by with a cart of unbroken down boxes and Bill asked if we could have one. He said take as many as you like. We  should have probably grabbed a few more, but we just took the one. We then took it to the post office and it cost us a whopping $11 to ship out. That's much better. Last year while making copies at UPS I watched a long line of  people shelling out $100 or more for shipping. No one seemed fazed. I was standing there watching in amazement. Guess people will pay the extra moola a week before Christmas to make sure a package will get to it's destination. I hope they got their things on sale at least.

We had a nice Thanksgiving up in MI. It was good to see everyone. My favorite part was Annie with her stroller. Too cute.
Besides being sick,we've managed to put up our Christmas tree, go to the Dr. and do a little Christmas shopping while waiting for RX. Yes the Dr. gave me a Z-pak. I have never had that before, but I am feeling better. No wonder people ask for that right away.
I do have to tell a funny story.  Dwight loves my pecan pie,so I  decided to make him one. In the process  Bill called and asked if I needed anything from the store on his way home from work. I said , no I've got everything I need.,see ya soon. I was also in the process of making other things to take up as well. Multitasking at it's finest and doing a good job until......
while adding eggs to the pie, Ashley said, I want to crack the eggs. I got two in and decided why not let her do the last one. I gave her an egg when somehow the rest of the carton of eggs humpty dumpty'd off the counter.  SPLAT, egg everywhere. OK no BIG DEAL, Ashley was holding the last egg for the pie when all of a sudden Sugar licked Ashley's foot scaring her, and there went the last egg!!! All happend in slow motion of course. NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I panicked, I quick called Bill  to have him pick up more eggs. Not too happy since he was half way home after a long day at work. Then while doing more multitasking I opened the fridge only to discover a few hidden eggs in the very back. Debated on wether to call him back or not. Nahhh. Maybe he won't notice I didn't  use his eggs.  Of course Ashley  squeeled with laughter as soon as Bill showed up telling him all about it. Then he said, All you needed was one egg, couldn't you have borrowed one from the neighbor? Thanks honey for the eggs.
DOWNSTAIRS NOW, BABY STROLLER!!! Was heard throughout the house the next morning as soon as Annie woke up.

Bill begged me to make cookies. I can count on one han how many times I've made cookies. They don't usually turn out . I will admit, these Toffee cookies turned out pretty good.
The tradition of Ashley braving it, to put the star up on the tree.
 I'm a Big Sister ornament.
Yummy cookies!!! Some are even kind of round.

Here's some pictures of our new and improved bathroom. Don't know what got into us,cause way too fancy for this house. Maybe we'll hang Ashley's duck clock back up.  We looked and looked for just the right molding ,but couldn't find one that was exactly what we wanted, so Bill took 3 smaller pieces and made his own chair railing. I think it turned out perfect. He also framed the ends out as you see in this picture and made his own floor molding out of 2 pieces as well. Home Depot loved us.

We now have a fancy bowed out shower curtain. Love that!!!!  Also a nice storage area for towels and Ashley's hair stuff. Eventually we'll get a new vanity ,but were going to have to wait on that for a bit. Bill bought some nice handles to fancy it up for the meantime.(Not on it yet)

Our cool tile floor.  Bill played around with different tiles in the store and liked this look best. We have bought and returned tile a couple times,so am glad this is on the floor finally.  The vanity we want is a deep cherry wood with a black granite top. Will look gorgeous with these floors. Actually was reason we bought this tile and returned the other. I am so happy to be able to take a shower again.

Refund

No sooner had I typed last blog, Bill came in and had me check to see if they sent us a response. They had. It was the second one and were willing to refund our money. Cool. Now back to watching and hopefully can get one we both want. Maybe.

e-bay

Too funny not to share. Bill's not laughing though.  He's holding his breath till we we get the product that he won off of e-bay. First off he didn't really want a white one,but put in a bid cause it looked really nice and it was a good price. He didn't expect to win. I was on e-bay just looking when he decided to check on it and exclaimed, I actually won it!? I had no idea he had even put in a bid. Thank goodness I didn't secretly put in a bid on one. I just have been watching them. I told him to show me the picture and only when he blew it up did he realize there are two totally different pictures of the item. Of course he had just finished paying for it. He quickly shot the person an e-mail stating which one we were expecting. I don't know what one does if it's not the one you thought you were bidding on. But either way I can cross it off my huge to do list. For some reason we are having a hard time agreeing on what we both want but this was accidentally easy. We are hoping for the top one,but our luck it'll be the bottom one. I guess, new never been used ,means the owner doesn't really know what it looks like.

Last night we carved pumpkins.  The baby pumpkin was too small so we stamped  and wrote on it instead. Turned out pretty good I think. There's a trick to stamping something round.
No gross faces this year. Ashley was into digging the guts out this time. She carved most of her pumpkin out by herself. She is very proud of how her cat turned out.

Since I look like a pumpkin Bill thought it was cute to get a side shot by one.
 Ashley's pumpkin below

My pumpkin. Not bad for first hard one. It's an owl in a tree.
Bill's werewolf pumpkin. He's so awesome.
